About the Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA)
The Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA) is an association of authorised and operational non-state-owned, private broadcasting organizations formed to promote members’ common interests.
Membership
Membership of the association is open to all authorised and operational non-state-owned, private, and independent broadcasting organisations, i.e. radio, television, webcasting, and other forms of broadcasting. They may be commercial (profit) or community (non-profit) stations.

To proactively support and promote the independence, legal and economic interests of its members through the provision of top-quality research, advisory, consultancy, and advocacy in a changing business and regulatory environment.

Aims & Objectives
- Promote the orderly and dynamic development of the broadcasting sector.
- Engage government and other regulatory bodies in dialogue to promote and protect the interests of the Association.
- Maintain the independence of the broadcasting sector from all vested interests.
- Promote the continual upgrading of the performance of the broadcasting sector.
- Provide support services (e.g. legal, technical, etc.) to enhance the operational capacity of members.
- Develop and promote a vibrant communication network among members.
- Establish and maintain broadcast standards, criteria and ethics.
- Enhance the utilization of the resources of the Association and its members to make a positive contribution to the socio-economic development of Ghana.
- Project and enhance the image of the Association.
