The Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA) has learnt with much regret the untimely demise of Kwadwo Asare Baffour Acheampong (KABA), of Asempa FM and Adom FM of the Multimedia Group Limited in the early hours of Saturday, November 18, 2017. GIBA wishes to express its sincerest condolences to the entire Multimedia Group and his family. Young as he was, KABA was an icon in broadcasting admired by his many listeners and compatriots alike. KABA was a very astute broadcast journalist who endeavoured to diligently carry out his duties to the general public by educating and entertaining them, while deepening democracy in Ghana through the freedom of expression.
His death is a loss that is felt by the entire media fraternity. GIBA wishes to extend to the entire management and staff of the Multimedia Group Limited, its support in this trying moment. GIBA also encourages all broadcasters to take a cue from the open-minded, fair and professional example of KABA, eschewing professionalism and excellence in all their endeavours.
Once again, we wish to express our condolences to the Multimedia Group as well as KABA’s wife, daughter and family.
Thank you.
